Hello, my name is Robert, and I
attend University of Texas at Dallas, or UTD.
I chose UTD for their Arts and Technology school, or ATEC. At UTD I learn about animation and in my
spare time I Swing Dance.
I love Swing Dance. Swing Dance is a great way to meet people and
have fun. I started in 2006, and dance
all over Dallas. Dallas has amazing
opportunities to learn, and I still go to beginner lessons. Beginner lessons are a great way to meet
people, and I started to follow this year.
I started to follow to become a better dancer and have fun.
Recently I joined the UTD Comet
Swing Society and have met awesome people.
Comet Swing Society started in 2012 and hopes to have a live band for
the last dance this semester.
I realize there are Swing Dance
blogs, but I haven’t found many for Dallas that are active.
The purpose of my blog is to inform
university students about different opportunities in DFW and help them learn
more about the history and variations of this dance. To accomplish this, I will use books and
online resources. Specifically, I plan
to talk about Norma Miller and Frankie Manning.
I also hope to spread the word about Comet Swing Society and promote
UTD. So, I will interview members of
Comet Swing Society and talk about one of their events this semester.
Welcome to my blog about Swing
Dance for Dallas university students.
